When using chip 320F28027 serial port online upgrade, set GPIO37 low and GPIO34 high.

Restart the chip and send the hex file to the chip via GPIO28 and GPIO29 via the serial port tool.

The serial port tool will receive the same data stream as the sent data.

Restart the chip again. The sent program did not update successfully.Online updates look like a postback mode。

are you trying to update the image in flash ?
in your case are you just sending the application image ?

you can use the tool at \ti\controlSUITE\device_support\~Utilities\serial_flash_programmer to update image in flash. basically this uses flash kernel which gets downloaded first followed by your actual application image.

yes,I want to updata the app program in flash.but it seems don't work.I use hex2000.exe to generate a hex file such as picture 1 and pass the data such as picture 2.

This picture is my serial flash loader tool. It send hex data to 320F28027. I don't use TI's tool(serial_flash_programmer.exe).

This is my conmand to get hex file. Then delete first and last line ,add 0x61 to first line.
It's that ture?

Generate hex with the command

C:\ti\ccsv7\tools\compiler\ti-cgt-c2000_16.9.4.LTS\bin\ hex2000.exe-memwidth = 16-romwidth = 16-i G:\new\ dhsensor_master.out.g :\new\ dhsensor_master.hex

you dont need to make any manual modification on tool generated output.

How did you arrive at modifying them manually ? is it documented somewhere ?

I am not sure how C2PROG behaves. Can you please use TI's serial flash programmer tool. Actually this process of update happens in 2 steps. First the kernel (flash programmer) gets downloaded to RAM and executes. This kernel then receives the actual application through SCI and programs to flash.

I use TI's serial flash programmer tool with command
C:\ti\controlSUITE\device_support\~Utilities\serial_flash_programmer\serial_flash_programmer.exe -d f2802x -k G:\new\f28027_flash_kernel.txt -a G:\new\DHSensor_Master.hex -p COM7 -b 9600
when it's done,the app didn't work.

Do you get any message regarding completion of download process or it stops here ?

I am not sure how this tool reports the log as this was one of the earlier devices.

Through an oscilloscope, i can see the sending and receiving data back and forth.And I'm sure i pass the autobaud detection.

By the way,what mean of kernel name?

This file must be in the SCI boot format

Please use the code released in C2000Ware.

Also, use the -v command line option. This will enable some more verbose printing.

The SCI boot loader in ROM only loads code to RAM. That is why we first load the kernel which is equipped with the flash API to update the flash. Then we send the flash application to the kernel to update the flash.

Please make sure your flash application is entirely linked to load to flash.

I succeed. Thanks. That is another question. Can I add f28027_flash_kernel rountine to my APP in flash section. Then I can updata APP received by serial port. Just like second boot .
