TMDSRSLVR: Is the excitation voltage with DC offset acceptable to the resolvers?

Well, C13 in the schematics will block the DC component and only AC component will go through and reach the resolver primary winding, so question 2 is not a concern anymore.

We don't have the detailed design files anymore as it was done long ago. However, it is a second order low pass filter with a cutoff frequency greater than 15KHz. The second order will provide a steep slope to filter the carrier frequency components to insignificance.

Sounds good. Based on your experience, for resolver application, is this scheme (shown in reference design TMDSRSLVR) a sound design (compared with designs based on PGA411 or AMC1210+ADS1205, etc.)? Thanks.

PGA411 is an exclusive device for resolver to digital conversion. The other devices you mentioned are Delta-sigma modulators and not resolver to digital converters. Of course, you can use these data instead of ADC and still do the same algorithm as in this example. 

If your application has the bandwidth to include the software overhead of resolver interface, this solution can certainly work. You may have to add some code to take care of signal integrity. There is no single straight answer to compare against PGA411. It depends on the use case/ criticality.

Our application is to measure the speed of a BLDC motor with resolver, then do a closed-loop speed control of the motor based on the measured motor speed. We'll use TMS320F28035 as the MCU, and it seems the bandwidth should be OK. We'll choose the design illustrated in TMDSRSLVR, and tune the hardware and software later to see if it'll fit our case.

Do you have some code example(s) to take care of signal integrity?
