Hi,

I have designed my board using TMS320F28379D. Now I am using XDS110 Debugger to connect to the target. But I am getting Following connection error. Please explain What all settings need to be changed?

Find the error log below.

The controller cannot control the timing on output pins.
The controller cannot control the timing on input pins.
The scan-path link-delay has been set to exactly '0' (0x0000).

This error is generated by TI's USCIF driver or utilities.

The value is '-233' (0xffffff17).
The title is 'SC_ERR_PATH_BROKEN'.

The explanation is:
The JTAG IR and DR scan-paths cannot circulate bits, they may be broken.
An attempt to scan the JTAG scan-path has failed.
The target's JTAG scan-path appears to be broken
with a stuck-at-ones or stuck-at-zero fault.

Hi Vishal,

This error varies greatly depending on the type of fault and therefore both CCS and the Test Connection can return different results.

Common to all scenarios is when the integrity scan-test fails with invalid data - something mentioned in this e2e forum thread.

Hi Nirav,

The XDS110 Jtag Comes with a 20Pin TI Connector and Cable and a few BreakOut Boards. Although they are a bit confusing. Both Side of that its written pin 1 indication. I tried putting the JTAG in all 4 possible combinations. I believe the Log I posted before is the correct connection as the power is detecting. But the connection is not establishing. Now I noticed that TRST pin is low and after connecting JTAG, Pin 5 Power is going off on My board. So is it possible that there is something wrong in the Breakout Board?

Please find the images attached and let me know which is the correct way to connect.

In the Image above, pin 1,2,19,20 are short.

In the Image above, Pin 1, 19 and 20 are short.

Please note the shorts mentioned. Is it correct or this Board is damaged? What is the part no of this board If I wanna order a new one?

Or Can I have a 1-1 20 pin Connector(Custom Made ) from XDS110 to my Board?

Hi,

Just now I found out out the below thing.

Please Note that All 3 Breakout Boards have the Same 20 pin 1.27mm Connector Identical. But (CTI 20 in ARM 20 (The One I am using)) Has a short issue. Just to confirm, I tried another debugger, there also I am getting the same error. So Is it suppose to be like this? If no then, what's the issue and how I am supposed to Connect it to my Board?
