TMS320F28377S: GPIO assignment for a signal which has several candidates to assign

Part Number: TMS320F28377S

In Table 4-1 Signal Descriptions of the data sheet (tms320f28377s.pd.pdf), communication signals such as CANRXA, CANTXA, SDAB, SCLB, SCIRXDA, and SCITXDA are assigned to multiple GPIO ports. Is it OK to assign a signal to one of those ports?

For example, if you use SCI-A, you only need to assign two ports, GPIO35 (SCIRXDA) and GPIO36 (SCITXDA), can other ports be used for functions other than SCI-A?

Best Regards, Okada
