TMS320F28377D-EP: P02_XDS100V2 schematic and firmware

Part Number: TMS320F28377D-EP

I am trying to draw a schematic for my application using a F28377D chip.

I have a Experimenters Kit for the F28379D

I looked at its schematic for the XDS100V2 Emulator on the Kit but am not shore if I can just copy it.

1 The schematic shows a Memory chip. is it require for programming and general debugging?.

2 If so what data is it storing?

3 The schematic shows a FT2232HL USB to serial converter chip. Is there any firmware required to run this chip or dose it self setup?.

4 Could a simpler FT230XR-S USB to serial converter be used instead?

Additional information about implementing an XDS100 on your board can be found here:

You could also skip the on-board emulator and instead place a connector for JTAG (see the ControlCard baseboard schematic) and use a discrete XDS100 dongle (or other discrete JTAG emulator).
