TMS320F280049C: what's the difference between UNCHXL-F280049C and TMDSCNCD280049C ?

Part Number: TMS320F280049C

question described as title.

thank you!

  • Hi Yuan,

Both the F280049C ControlCard and LaunchPad include the same F28004x C2000 device on-board for evaluation. The LaunchPad is a lower cost evaluation module compared to the ControlCard.

They each have their own ecosystems they are used in which customers may have a preference. LaunchPads have Boosterpacks and Adapter boards that can be plugged on to add functionality, as well as being used in a number of reference designs. ControlCards are used in a number of targeted reference designs that are often more complex compared to the LaunchPad usage, such as TMDXIDDK379D.

    Best,

  • Yuan,

Kevin's description is good. The LaunchPad is low cost, and the controlCARD is made to be a good reference design.

Both had many uses. For general SW development and some prototyping both work well.

The biggest difference is which applications are supported by the LaunchPad and which are supported by the controlCARD. We have put together the following site to try and help answer that question: https://www.ti.com/microcontrollers/c2000-real-time-control-mcus/design-development.html
