BOOSTXL-BUCKCONV: Damaged power switch, need to change the card : BOOSTXL-BUCKCONV

Part Number: BOOSTXL-BUCKCONV
Hello,
i tried using the Boards : https://www.ti.com/tool/BOOSTXL-BUCKCONV
In a control application, I have connected this board to the control board via jumper wires so that I can remove the control when I want to cut off the power switch control.
Once i tried to cut off the switch control manually, i noticed that the converter no longer works, and the power switch no longer switches, i noticed that it is short-circuited,
please let me know if there is a possibility to replace my card knowing that I bought this card for 2 months only, the card is in the guarantee phase, please replace it for me.

The attached picture shows my board called BOOSTXL-BUCKCONV when the power switch is damaged.

Thank you for your undestanding.

Best regards.

Hassan
  • Hassan,

I'm asking the owner of this Booster Pack to take a look at the post to see if we can simply replace a component(s) to get this working again.

    Best,

    Matthew

  • Hassan,

From the photo, it looks as if there was some rework attempted on the board to remove the N1 FET device, and it looks as if there is heat damage on the JP1 terminal that would be consistent with contact exposure to a soldering iron.

I don't think that we would be able to provide a replacement for the board in this condition.

    Hello,
once the switch was short-circuited I tried to remove it to replace it by another one,

Unfortunately since the copper links are very small, I was not able to solder another one in place of this switch.

    Best regards.

    Hassan

  • Hassan,

I can certainly appreciate the initiative to attempt a repair on your own.  From an E2E support standpoint, I can only recommend that you try to replace the component that was removed.

If you want to request a replacement, you would need to contact TI Store support.  If you have a working relationship with a TI Sales representative, they might be able to provide you with a replacement board as a courtesy.
