TMS320F28054M: Problems performing motor ID

Part Number: TMS320F28054M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MOTORWARE

Hello,

We have a custom design based on the TMS320F28054M that runs one type of 3 phase induction motor just fine. The engineer that designed and implemented this setup is no longer with our company.

We are now trying to run different types of 3 phase induction motors on this design, and we run in to issues with motor identification. Values returned makes little sense.

The design uses one LEM HXS 20-NP per phase for current measurements. This gives us a theoretical measurement range of approx -80A to +80A. 160A/4095=0.04A resolution in theory.

Our question is: is this resolution sufficient for the internal algorithms of the processor to work correctly or do we need to adjust the design?

Are the limits documented anywhere?

Br,

Øystein Andreassen
