Hi there,

I am trying to use the Trip Zone to create a CBC current limiting for TIDA-00951 Boost Mode, I an using TIDA-01281.

As I understood from the TMS320F2803x TRM. A trip zone event can be trigger by:

external event on TZ pins
analog comparator COMPxOUT

on TIDA-01281 there is a ADC that reads the current, is it possible to trigger TZ event by this ADC?

is there a reason why you don't want to use the comparator? It has a build in DAC that can be used to program a trip point.

There is also the option of using software force trips, but this would need to be done in the application code after a condition was met. Say ADC reading > x Trip PWM. This of course is the slowest and least reliably way to trip the PWM though, so I would recommend other methods before trying this. Think, what happens if there is an interrupt? Or in the event of a missing clock.

Yes, for using the comparator i need a dedicated analong input pin for the current sense. (please correct me if i wrong)

which i dont have access to it at my tida 01281 borde.

you should be able to use the comparator and the ADC on the same channel simultaneously.

Michael,

I don't think there is really a trick here, the ADCx channel and the COMPx channel are both connected by default in the AIOMUX1 register. All you have to do is configure and use the ADC and comparator.

C2000ware has some examples on how to do both separately, but you can combine these examples easily.
