Hello,

What happens under the following four conditions?

1. During operation, one of the phases opens

2. During operation, one of the phases disconnects from the source and shorts to neutral (i.e. the phase voltage is zero volts)

3. Power is applied, with one of the phases open

4. Power is applied, with one of the phases disconnected from the source and shorted to neutral (i.e. the phase voltage is zero volts)

Hi James,

We have not tested these four conditions as they are not the initial requirements of this reference design. The three phase current are controlled independently, so some extent of PFC might still be achieved, but we don't have any other algorithm to do the fault tolerance control.

There are some literature like the one below.

Thank you but I believe that it would be important to understand the performance under the conditions described.

Would be perform the tests and/or simulations?
