[FAQ] Where do I find SYS/BIOS or TI-RTOS examples for my C2000 device?

Question: Where do I find SYS/BIOS or TI-RTOS examples for my C2000 device?

  • Note: SYS/BIOS and TI-RTOS are not recommended for new projects. Instead see the FreeRTOS kernel included in C2000Ware.

SYS/BIOS and TI-RTOS examples can be found for supported devices in CCS by going to File -> New -> CCS Project, select your target, and see the "Project templates and examples" box. If you are looking for more than just an empty/template example, use the "More Examples…" -> "Search using Import Wizard" option.

If you don't see any SYS/BIOS or TI-RTOS examples, there are two things you should check:

Is your device is supported? Open the release notes for the version of SYS/BIOS you have installed and see the Device Support section. Note that if you have installed the TI-RTOS package, the only supported devices are F28M35x and F28M36x and examples specifically show up under the part numbers F28M35H52C1 and F28M36P63C2 for the Cortex M core only.

Has CCS discovered the product? In CCS go to Window -> Preferences and then look under "Code Composer Studio" -> "Products". Is SYS/BIOS or TI-RTOS in the list of installed discovered products? If not, click the Refresh button to open a list of the discovered products available to be installed. Select the products you want to install in the list and click the Install button.

If your product does not show up in the list, check the "Product discovery path" list; if you've installed it outside the default location, you may need to add the actual install location to the path and try Refresh again.
