TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT: New TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT can't connect to CCS, the JTAG on-board is broken.

Part Number: TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT

Hello, everyone.

I brought a new TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT last week, the kit has not connect to a motor and [Main]-P1 on the board was not used yet.

When I received this kit and try to test JTAG and control card TMDSCNCD28035, I just powered control card by [M6]-JP1, and the LD1 is green and LD3 is flashing.

And [M3]-JP1 USB interface is connected to PC.

Then I checked [Main]-J3,J4,J5,J9 and switches on the control card, found that the default setting is right for test JTAG. The figure below is the connection when I test. [M3]-LD1 is still light.

I carried on my test and opened HVMTRPFCKIT-PM-ACI-GUI.exe in C:\ti\controlSUITE\development_kits\HVMotorCtrl+PfcKit_v2.1\~GUI but the connection failed. The all setting in PC shows in the figure.

Then I opened CCS 10.1, try to test JTAG and debug, after Target Configuration, there is an error when Test Connection

Execute the command:

%ccs_base%/common/uscif/dbgjtag -f %boarddatafile% -rv -o -F inform,logfile=yes -S pathlength -S integrity

And when I going to Connect Target in Debug interface, there is also an error.

Maybe the kit has been put on sale for a long time, the drives and .exe file in GUI folder in the U disk shipped with TMDSHVMTRPFCKIT cannot execute correctly. So the test above is all run in the last version of ControlSuite and CCS 10.1, I tested on another PC with CCS 6, but JTAG cannot work either.

So I tried to turn to Forum for help, and follow the guide of software-dl.ti.com/.../ccsv7_debugging_jtag_connectivity_issues.html, using a external JTAG XDS100v2 of my own and populate [M3]-J5, it didn't work either. When switching back to JTAG on-board, I found the [M3]-LD1 can't light, so I stopped debugging and go to here for help.

I try to describe the problems I encountered in detail. I hope you can help me solve it. It's a new kit bought from TI estore, the strong current part on the board has not powered yet, I just test JTAG on board and control card first out of cautious.

Looking forward to your reply, thank you.
