C2000-DIGITAL-CONTROL-LIBRARY: Using eCAP module to implement an active-clamp flyback converter in C2000

Part Number: C2000-DIGITAL-CONTROL-LIBRARY

Hello,

I am attempting to create a code for an active clamp converter, by which the clamp switch turns on only once a defined dead-band has passed once the falling-edge of the main switch is detected - this way I can tune the dead-band while ensuring the clamp switch only turns on a certain amount of time after the main switch is OFF.

Is the best way to do this through the use of the eCAP module? Is there a way to pass the PWM of my main switch, to trigger the input of the eCAP module and detect a falling edge on the main switch gate drive signal?

https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/spruhm8h/spruhm8h.pdf See page 1969.

Is this over-complicating things, or is it probably the most efficient way to implement an active clamp?

Regards,
Joel
