TMS320F28374S: How to change the microcontroller in the example project?

Hi Champs,

In the examples project, the target device is the F28377S with 100 pins, but can I change it to the F28374S with 176 pins and check the operation?

The example project is sci_ex1_loopback.

Hi Yuka,

Yes , you can change the device in the CCS project. Only thing you need to check if the GPIO pins are multiplexed in the same way as that in F28377S.

You can refer the datasheet of both the devices to figure out if there is any change.

I understand what you have answered.

When I try to change the device in the project properties, it says "For SysConfig-enabled projects, please use the SysConfig editor to migrate the project to another compatible device I just get a hint saying "For SysConfig-enabled projects, please use the SysConfig editor to migrate the project to another compatible device .

So, in SysConfig editor, open the syscfg file in this project and press the "SWITCH(BETA)" button.
Then I want to change the Part and Package of the device from F2837xS_100PTP to F2837xS_176PTP, and change the CCS Launch Device to TMS320F28374S, but I can only select TMS320F28378S or TMS320F28379S.

How can I change the setting in SysConfig editor?

Do I need to create a new syscfg file for F28374S in SysConfig editor and then reflect it in the sci_ex1_loopback project?

For reference, here are the steps we followed in our example project.

1. Change the device in the targetConfigs ccxml file from F28377S to F28374S and rename the file.
