TIDM-02002: PMP21553 & PMP21561 Versus TIDA-01605 Automotive Dual-Channel, SiC MOSFET Gate Driver With Two-Level Turnoff Protection

I am working on the TIDM-02002 reference design and I came across TIDA-01605 (Automotive Dual-Channel SiC MOSFET Gate Driver With Two-Level Turnoff Protection).
I noticed the difference is that the primary and secondary side drivers (PMP21553 & PMP21561) have no short circuit detection & Two level Turn off protections. 

- I wonder how the SiC Mosfet Short circuit Detection is implemented in TIDM-02002,and does it meet the timing requirements?
- For the primary and secondary side gate drivers, is it better to use TIDA-01605 on the four legs?

  • Also the ''Fault' and 'Reset' signals are present in the PMP21553 Primary Side driver, yet they are not connected to anything.

    I believe that all of the protection in TIDM-02002 is done by using the C2000's Comparators. These are setup such that they disable the PWMs when an over-current or over-voltage event is detected. Glancing at the code I didn't see any Trip-zones setup. Additionally looking at the schematic I don't see any connections to the driver fault signals, both of which would point to all of the protection being handled by the on chip comparators.
