TIDM-HV-1PH-DCAC: Issue with TIDM-HV-1PH-DCAC_voltage source inverter EVM

Part Number: TIDM-HV-1PH-DCAC
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: POWERSUITE

Hi TI team,

We are testing Build 3 closed voltage & current loop demo mode with 110Vrms output voltage. In POWERSUITE setting, only changed Vout from default 220Vrms to 110Vrms, others are kept as default setting. The load for EVM is using an AC-to-DC PSU with PFC.

However, after increasing the DC input voltage from 0V to 380V slowly, then we found EVM having unstable output voltage when increasing PSU loading slowly from 0W to 240W. EVM will shut down with OverCurrent Trip if increasing from 240W to 264W, please refer to below waveforms for detail.

With PSU loading 240W, EVM has output voltage unstable

(CH1: Vds of Q2,  CH2: Vds of Q4,  CH3: Output voltage,  CH4: Output current)

Modulation index=0.3871

Modulation index=0.5

With PSU loading 264W, EVM shut down with OverCurrent Trip

regards,

Cleto

  • Hi,

We only tested the board with resistive load ,

    1. Are you able to test with resistive load to verify that it works with that?

    2. Given the stability is related to the voltage of the bus, my recommendation will be scale back on the current loop coefficients , for example currently the Kp is 0.50939, i will recommend reducing it to ~0.4-0.35 and repeating the test. Similarly scale back on Voltage loop coefficients may help as well.
