Piccolo programming with Jtag-Emulator XDS510LC USB possible ?

Hello,

I am usingXDS510LC from Spectrum Digital and now i want to use it to programm the new Piccolo Family F2802x.
But in CCS Setup (CCS Release 3.3.82.13) i just found a selection for XDS100 USB Emulator and XDS560 Emulator.
Is there any Driver Update available wich supports XDS510LC for piccolo emulation or do i have to purchase an expensive XDS560?

yours Sincerely
S. Fischer

  • Any driver update for a Spectrum Digital emulator would need to come from Spectrum Digital.  I did not find it on their support web site, but I did a quick scan.

I would suggest sending a request to the support at Spectrum Digital.

  • Here is the answer from the Spectrum Digital support:

    Stefan,

Have you installed the Spectrum Digital Emulation driver installation? The driver installation should be run and installed into the same installation directory as your CCS is installed. Once this is done, you will see 'XDS510 USB Emulator' populated in the 'Platform' menu in the Setup CCS utility.

If you have not installed the drivers, or installed the drivers in a different directory, then I suggest you install the drivers first.

Furthermore, take a look at section 5.1 of our emulator guide at http://support.spectrumdigital.com/guides/JTAG_Emulator_guide/."

I allready installed these, so they didn't realy get my issue :), but i solved the problem you can select F2808 with XDS510 USB in the CCS Setup then manualy change the .gel file to the piccolo f280xx.gel u want to programm. Voila everything works with the XDS510USB Emulator!
