Hi, 

there are some issues as below when I imported the project which under motor_ware example into CCS5.4 to build.

anybody know how to resolve it? thanks very much......

    It looks like you changed the properties to target a 27x CPU core instead of a 28x.

    All of the project files come pre-configured to work as-is with the F28069M device.

    I would start fresh by downloading version _09 of www.ti.com/motorware

    and simply importing the set of projects. YOU DON'T NEED TO CHANGE ANY SETTINGS.

    if you want to try to fix this, look at the properties and make sure you are targeting the 28x

    thanks for your reply. yes, there is not issue if without any change of import project.  I have changed variant to tms320F28069, because of customer want to debug. but can't find tms320f28069m chip in ccs.

    Xiaowei,

    You do NOT need to change this setting to debug. You can debug using the projects in MotorWare as they are now.  Just import the projects and make sure you do NOT select "Copy projects to workspace".

    1. set-up a target configuration for your emulator + chip (if using the CNCD28069MISO select TI XDS100v2 and F28069)

    2. launch the target configuration

    3. connect to target

    4. load program

    5. turn on real-time mode

    6. run

    follow the MotorWare labs at

    C:\ti\motorware\MotorWare_1_01_00_09\docs\labs\instaspin_labs.pdf

    Correct. #2 won't work, because when you select F28069 it uses the default .cmd file which will not work for the InstaSPIN ROM devices (F2806xF, F2806xM).

    Leave the configuration default as in #1.

    To set-up your debug:

    View --> Target Configurations

    Right click, New, I like to name mine XDS100v2-f28069m

    select TI XDS100v2 and TMS320F28069 (when selecting this non ROM variant here it does not affect your .cmd file)

    Save

    Right Click on this Configuration --> Launch

    Once in debug screen you can do Run --> Connect Target and Run --> Load Program

    Hello,

    I am also new in CCS. By knowing your problem, I am trying to figure out the solution too.

    In my case, I have no problem on debugging. I made *.ccxml as Target Configuration file and everything automatically guided (popped-up) by CCS that I needed to make this file for debugging (I don't know why in your case the pop-up was not appeared).

    So I went a step back to find manual way.

    Like Chris said, go to View --> Target Configurations and then Right click --> New Target Configuration.

    Put the name and select the location that we desired then we only need to set like this:

    After saving and testing the connection, again Right click in Target Configuration window --> Import Target Configuration --> select our *.ccxml file,  and select Link to files

    We will see that the *.ccxml is put under User Defined, and then Right click on this file and select the project that we want to debug.

    Then the *.ccxml should be appeared under the project that we select.

    Build again our project and run the debugger.

    Hope this helps.
