I have used controlSUIT until last month.

 

but now, I can not use to controlSUITE.

 

please check add file and if you know why change format controlSUITE menu.

 

please tell me.

  • Had the same today... Re-installing did not work. I deleted the folder c:\TI\controlSUITE and then re-installed. But this time I used the offline installer, not the web installer. Now it works.

    I have installed controlSUITE with the offline and web installer as well as the GUI updater on my end and haven't been able to replicate the Resource Explorer GUI issue described. Could you provide additional details such as the installation directory being used, controlSUITE version being updated from, and steps taken that resulted in the observation of this issue?

    I got the same problem after I updated my ControlSuite using Updater that mentioned in ControlSuite (this is for the latest ControlSuite)
    I was thinking maybe because I updated my ControlSuite while also working on CCS and the ControlSuite couldn't fully update. Don't know whether this was the case.

  • Hi Chris. Maybe I also to Roger's case. When I use to CCS, I god a Updating message to controlSUITE and I did update.
    So after Updating is done, I could see change controlSUITE format and I did delete controlSUITE program to use control panel.

    Before update I had ControlSUITE v3.2.9 installed. (All TI things are installed in default folder C:\ti\ so ControlSUITE is inC:\ti\controlSUITE)

    I then manually checked for updates by selecting the start menu item found in Start -> Texas Instruments -> controlSUITE -> Update controlSUITE. I started this link as Administrator because otherwise I get a "access denied" error at start. A update was found, I clicked to update controlSUITE.

    While updating I worked with CCSv6, on same day some MS updates were installed. System is Win7 Pro 64Bit.

    I can reproduce following behavior:

    • open the new controlSUITE (dont select anything on the left tree, just the top node) -> all ok.
    • Open a 2nd controlSUITE -> it opens ok too.
    • Close both
    • open controlSUITE
    • Navigate in the tree to open a pdf (example: Devices->Piccolo F2802x -> User Guides -> Serial Peripheral Interface SPI
    • I let it open in a separate pdf viewer (pdf X-change by tracker software).
    • Now open 2nd controlSUITE -> it opens with empty window UI like it did after update.

    So perhaps it was not a update issue but a pdf / internet explorer issue.

    To open the pdf in a separate pdf viewer I configured my pdf viewer like this:

    pdf x-change viewer: do not show in browser (so if I click on a pdf in Internet Explorer I get the message "Do you want to open or save the ..pdf.." I get this message in a small window in controlSUITE too, and can select 'open'). It opens in a separate window which is much more comfortable than the controlSUITE window.

    Ohoh, while writing this post I played around with pdf viewer settings.. Now I have the same problem. controlSUITE opens always without UI. I will restart my laptop and update this message after... Perhaps this is because controlSUITE wants to open last pdf at startup (which is not really a cool new feature imho).

    Update:

    After rebooting my laptop, controlSUITE still does not open normally, just the empty user interface. Setting the pdf viewer to show or not show in browser doesn't matter... So this is not a update issue...

    Update 3:

    Deleting C:\ti\controlSUITE\eclipse\workspace\.metadata

    does solve my issue

  • Btw, I also use PDF XChange Viewer.
    But in my opinion, this is not the cause.

    I appreciate the feedback on the issue you are experiencing. I will continue to look further into what is causing Resource Explorer GUI to become blank. In the meanwhile, I suggest following Roger's suggested fix, and just delete the  ".metadata" folder within the C:\ti\controlSUITE\eclipse\workspace directory. This will reset the GUI workspace and should eliminate any irregularities that the GUI is displaying.

    I can't solve the problem with deleting "Metadata" file, Os is windows 10 64bit and the control suite is the last version(29 of september 2017). please help me for solving the problem.
