F28377S Delfino LP: Echoback example code does not work

Hello,

I have the LAUNCHXL-F28377S and I'm trying to start the sci-echoback code example from controlsuite. I also use hyperterminal with the given configuration (SCI_96.ht), but I don't get any messages from the Delfino. I tried different SCI-pins with their configuration according to the datasheet, but nothing changes.

When I enter something to the terminal, LED D8 blinks ..

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong or what I have to change. I hope someone can help me!!

Hi Johanna,

Did you check the SCI configuration and also check the baudrate? Actually the clock rate is different in sci_echoback example and hence you're experiencing mismatch in baudrate. As per what I recollect is the example code is set for 20MHz crystal but the launchpad has a 10MHz. Not very sure but this is what I recall :)

thanks for your answer. But I'm not sure, how to change the baud rate to the right one ..
Could you send me some code, which is working on your delfino? That would be great :)

You don't have to change the baud rate instead check: F2837xS_SysCtrl.c & F2837xS_Examples.h
Sorry, I don't have the code right now to share.

I'm sorry, I'm still confused ..

InitSysPll(XTAL_OSC,IMULT_20,FMULT_1,PLLCLK_BY_2);

The LSPCLK is the clock for the SCI, as I understand it right, and is calculated by dividing the SYSCLK by 4. The SYSCLK is the same as the PLLSYSCLK ..
And at the end I define the value for the baud register by LPSCLK/Baudrate - 1.
Right?

I changed the GPIO configuration to:
GPIO_SetupPinMux(85, GPIO_MUX_CPU1, 5);
GPIO_SetupPinOptions(85, GPIO_INPUT, GPIO_ASYNC);
GPIO_SetupPinMux(84, GPIO_MUX_CPU1, 5);
GPIO_SetupPinOptions(84, GPIO_OUTPUT, GPIO_PUSHPULL);

Now I get at least some symbols, but still no "Hello World" ..
Any suggestions what I'm doing wrong?

Yes.. its GPIO 84 & 85 did you configure the other GPIOs previously? Do one experiment... Transmit some data in a while loop and check the baud rate on DSO. Check whether it matches with the set one.

You were right Gautam, I had to change the clock settings to:
InitSysPll(XTAL_OSC,IMULT_40,FMULT_1,PLLCLK_BY_2);

Now it's working perfectly.
