TMS320F28016PZA with a bigger flash?

Hi everyone,

I'm working with an old board used for motor control. This board places a TMS320F28016PZA, with 32Kb for flash memory. Right now I'm near to complete the flash capacity, so I would like to replace the microcontroller for other with a bigger flash capacity and, for sure, without too much work. Could be the TMS320F2802-60 and equivalent for TMS320F28016? Is there more options?

Thank you in advance.

  • Hi Masky,

Check with F2808/F2812 parts. Go through their datasheets once.

    Regards,
    Gautam

  • Masky,

Any of the F280x devices in the PZ package will be drop-in compatible with the F28016. For code, you'd really just have to check the flash and ram memory map in the linker .cmd file. As Gautam said, check the device datasheet SPRS230.

F2802-60 would be a good choice, as you were thinking.

    Regards,
    David
