Hello,

Could you please tell me how the total clamp current is limited for the part# ? My question is specific to the total current.

Is that +-20mA ? I think it would be too small.

SZZA036c.pdf doesn't work, I think.

Please let me repeat my quesion: Could you please tell me how the total clamp current is limited for the part# ?

I wonder it would be sum of signal pin current, or an indirect expression like a power pin current, or an IC temperature.

Nambu-san,

It is indeed the sum of signal pin current (+/- 2 mA per pin, continuous). 2 mA is a conservative spec and a few simplifying assumptions have been made to arrive at this number.

We don’t recommend leaving the pins in a continuously clamped condition. However, if there is a condition where this clamp would be turned on for longer than would be called a transient response, it should not exceed more than 2mA per pin. The transient clamp can be 20mA.Could you please tell us why you consider 20 mA to be too small? Are we talking about a transient overshoot/undershoot situation or a constant clamp current on some pin(s)? How many pins are we talking about?

I'm sorry. I have misunderstood my customer question.

The forcing voltage was not clamping but in-range of the supply rails between VDDIO and GND.

The single pin current is clearly defined in the DS, but is there an another limitation for total current of the pins ?

The unit is not necessarily current [mA], so the Junction temperature TJ would work ?
