I am not understanding how the SOM PLC are working and how to implement in my design.

I want to establish communication between three microcontrollers through a power line.

1) Is it necessary to use F28PLC83 with the analog front end for power line communication or any microcontroller from C2000 series of other architecture can be used?

2) Can any microcontroller be connected through an interface (SPI, SCI, I2C) to this PLC modem and programmed?

As I am a newbie to this topic any help regarding same would be of great help

hi Nisha ,

1. it is not a must , but the available PLC solutions from TI would be on specific C2000 only Like F2837X , F28plc83, F28PLC84,F28M35.

2. The PLC modem is the c2000+ AFE , so the host can be any controller connected over UART .

1. So for the application of the PLC-OFDM technique and data transfer(of 120 kbps in my application), this modem should be used with a combination of the specific analog front end?
2.And further, this can be connected with any host controller over UART?
3. Can you please provide some app note or video links in order to understand TI's PLC solution in a better way like from beginners perspective.

Hi Nisha ,

1. Yes . Please look at the PLC solution that suits you . CEN band has the least data rates to the FCC which has the max.

Hi,

I am trying to use PLC solution in a different kind of topology.

Basically want to communicate controls information between three micro-controller through inverter output.

The multi-level inverter output is not pure sinusoidal ac,it's staircase kind of structure.

Can PlC kits be directly connected and used for such a topology?

hi Nisha ,

No we support only a pure sinusoidal AC .

But if we can have an interface circuitry to convert the multi-level inverted output into a sine wave , we can use the solution .

Hi Meghana,

I want this three micro-controller connected to each H-bridge inverter module to communicate the information of there respective DC link voltage for generating the staircase structure of inverter voltage output; so I don't know whether I can do a interface circuitry for each inverter set.

Is there any other way?

and on what does this plc output get superimposed ?
