TIDM-SOLAR-DCDC: GUI connection problem

Part Number: TIDM-SOLAR-DCDC
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSCNCD28035, TMDSCNCD28035ISO, CONTROLSUITE

Hi,

I am trying to test this solar DC-DC MPPT converter. But now I have problem with connecting it to GUI.

I read the DSP code. It seems all communication is done by GPIO 22 and GPIO 23.

But the only connection choice I have is the JTAG on the main board, which is also used for debugging. But it is connecting to GPIO 28 and 29.

GPIO 22 and 23 goes to H2 on the main board which is simply 10 pins there..

So which port am I suppose to use to connect it to GUI?

Thanks,

Dong

  • What controlCARD are you using with the converter board? TMDSCNCD28035 or TMDSCNCD28035ISO or something else?

I'm not sure what you mean by "problem with connecting it to GUI"--are you having trouble connecting to the debugger in CCS or are you just having trouble viewing the SCI output in a terminal program?

  • Hi Whitney,

    I'm using TMDSCNCD28035.

Debugging is fine. I can see LD3 is flashing. I hope it means program is running.

The GUI program is provided by ControlSuite. It can detect the COM port that being used but when I press the "connect" button it says could not connect.

The question is to connect to the GUI, should I use extra cable rather than the usb cable I used for debugging? Because in the code it seems using a different communication port.
