TMS320F28374S: Is there any Clamping diode or ESD protection Diode exist between ADCx input to VDDA or ADCx input to VSSA

Hi Team,

Is there diode between the ADCx input to VDDA or ADCx input to VSSA? If the diode exist, what’s the purpose of the diode: is for clamping diode or for ESD diode? What’s the current limitation for each ADCx input?

Hi Benjamin,

Yes, there are diodes to both rails. These are intended for ESD protection.

They could begin clamping if the ADC input goes 0.3V above VDDA or 0.3V below VSSA. Maximum clamping current before damage could occur is given in the datasheet here:
