Hello All,

I've seen a lot on this.

Actually started this project when Control Suite was the tool of choice, and now I see it is C2000-Ware.

I'm trying to get the usb_dev_serial example working - but where is the .inf file example that we're supposed to use; and where is the CDC driver?

Windoze 10 constantly says unknown device and when I try to point it to the correct directory it consistently says that the 'correct' driver is already installed.
Apparently not.

Please point me to where the .inf file actually is (the one that works) and where/what we are supposed to use for the CDC driver.

Since there has obviously been some changes (that are lacking) with switching over to C2000-Ware - please don't reply to this with 'see this thread....' -

I've already looked; already tried it; I am getting what I claim in this post.

(Another issue I'm seeing with other examples; the USB clock seems to get killed - is there an example that enables peripheral clocks (like ePWM and HRCAP) that works when USB is enabled?)

The C2000 USB Software expert, Sal, is out of the office. Unfortunately this will cause a delay in responses until he is back in the office next week (Dec 5th).

I *think* I can help with the driver issue in the meantime. We share USB host drivers with the TM4 products. Last week we became aware of a patch they released for windows 10 issues - specifically a signature issue. These drivers resolved another C2000 customer question earlier this week. I know Sal has plans to test these out when he returns and release them into C2000Ware.

If you are willing to try them, the patch is located here.

I am not sure what your issue is with the clock for the USB. Can you elaborate a little more? What are you noticing ? When does the clock get killed?

Are you using the Windows drovers here? C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_1_00_02_00\utilities\windows_drivers

I will try the windows signing thing and/or wait for Sal to post the fix.

Sal,

Looks like the C2000-Ware page is down - or at least it said it went down for maintenance; I will wait for the latest C2000-Ware which I am assuming will be at least 1.03 or something in that ball-park.

I'll work on an example that kills the USB clocks; I am assuming this is a peripheral clock register issue; that the registers are getting overwritten; disabled; or maybe the proper init order isn't correct.

Sal,

In case you are wondering - the USB driver issue and the USB clock issue are two separate projects; the USB driver issue is simply the usb_dev_serial example - still can't get that working.

Sal,

I'm attaching my workspaces - new_ws1.zip - that is for the USB and I'm doing PWM (trying to). The second workspace is PWM only. When I try to do PWM and try running USB; I see the USB clocks get disabled. Probably something simple; but if you have time to look I would appreciate it.

Hi John,

Regarding the disabling of the USB clock. Instead of digging through the code right now, try this...

1) Set up a register view window of the clock enable bit that is getting cleared (or whatever bit is disabling the USB).
2) Make sure you have the continual refresh feature enabled on the register view window.
3) Step through your code and see when that bit is changed. You can begin by stepping over entire functions, and then begin to dig deeper.

This should help. Let me know what you find.

Hello All,

So, in a post to a similar thread - I will also post here:

After downloading the latest "C2000-Ware" from here:

I was able to get my target ("Themis") to at least load the USB driver under Windows 10 without error.

Note I have disabled the mandatory driver signing requirement on the machine this is running on as well.

Here's a screen shot:

I will try the test code for the USB app to/from the PC shortly and will report on that as well.

Hello Again,

Here's a screen shot using the USB Bulk Driver - I only had to give permission for Windows to load the driver this time; maybe that's due to disabling signing previously but the driver (1.00.03) loaded: (USB Bulk App connected to "Themis" target)
