TMS320F28335: TMS320F28335ZHHA,getting heated up

Hey,

I have been using TMS320F28335ZHHA, and it's being heated up very soon. I checked for all the voltage levels and they are fine. I have not put a heat sink. It is going till 90 degree in like 1 minute.

Akhil,

What is the current draw on VDD and VDDIO?
Are there any other nearby heat sources?

Hi Cody,

1. the current is being supplied by tps767d301 ldo. The current drawn by the dsp is approx 280 ma. This ldo is kept nearby to the dsp. If there is an email id I can send the schematics for proper understanding.

hi cody,

the pcb is getting heated up. the dsp temperature is going upto 65 degree celsius. is there any layout specs which i need to follow? my circuit is working fine but my pcb is getting heated.. suggest

Ankita,

the "A" devices maximum operating temperature is 85C, so you are getting close to this limit. We recommend obvious things like spread out heat sources on the PCB and ensure that you have adequate thermal coupling between the device and the board to spread out the heat.
