TMDSEMU200-U: Designing a Debug-Interface for the XDS200

Hello,

I have troubles designing an debuging interface with the XDS200. The plan is to use the XDS200 to programm and debug my hardware containing the 28377S.

The question i have is what i have to consider on my board in order to connect the XDS200 (preferably with the TI-14Pin what i found out):

Here found the pinout containing pins i do not have on my chip. What to do with VTREF, KEY, RTCK, EMU0 and EMU1? Are Pullups or buffers on my side required? There are some statements for what they are used, but not how to connect them.

I also found some other resources for the XDS5XX and XDS110, but none for the XDS200.

I would be happy for some resources to start with!

Hello Mattew,

after some research, I have a followup-question: In the datasheet, it isn't explicitly stated how the pin numbering of the connector is. The datasheet suggests that it looks like this (looking at the male part at the board):

the Segger hompage also has a pinout of your connector:

but again, its not explicitly stated if thats the view of the male or female connector, which makes a huge difference.

i couldn't find the informatin here either, i hope i didn't miss it.

Sorry for being fussy, but i want to avoid ordering a bunch of wrongly connected boards.

Dominik,

No worries at all, this is certainly something that needs to be correct as you mention. I would describe our view as of the male connector, i.e. what is placed on the board. Below is a picture of the 14-pin adapter included with the XDS200, and you can see there is a block placed inside pin 6 to serve as a key pin.

While it is a NC schematically, in practice the male pin is always broken off manually once the board is assembled. You can also reference the schematics/board files for the F28379D Docking station here, which has the JTAG header implemented on a board.
