I use launchpad-f28069m for control related works and generate 4 PWM(s) with that. The igbt(s) receive pulses well and are reinforced while when power circuit is disconnected, but when connecting power circuit, the connection 28069 and pc is regularly connected and disconnected. Also, when using external mode, I receive an error which I think to be related to frequent disconnection of 28069 and pc"

Error occurred while executing External Mode MEX-file 'ext_comm':
ExtSetTargetPkt() call failed on CLOSE.
Ensure target is still running"

I will be really thankful if you help me by giving proper solution and suggestions.

MIMI,

How are your JP1 and JP2 configured? Have you isolated the JTAG connection from the MCU? When you connect your power stage, ensure that the JTAG is isolated. This will protect your PC from damage should the power stage fail. It will also protect the debugger from the noise that the power stage is likely generating.

What is your LaunchPad connected to? is it a custom board? A TI BoosterPack?
What Software are you using? Motorware?

Hello Mr Labbato
I've connected Jp1 and Jp2 jumpers (short circuit). I think the disconnection to pc is due to isolation. How should I isolate debugger form mcu correctly?
I use launchxl-28069 and not booster pack. Moreover, my software is matlab 2018a, control suite 3.3 and ccs7 and I don't use motorwave. Actually, I'm not going to control motor by mcu and to do this, I use dc chopper & igbts swiching.

MIMI,

This is pretty clearly described in the User's Guide for the LaunchPad. Simply depopulate the jumpers from JP1 and JP2. This will isolate the power planes between the JTAG and the MCU and your power stage. You will need to supply 5 V and 3.3 V to the MCU side of your design externally in this case.

I depopulated Jp1 and Jp2 jumpers but have no idea how to feed MCU separately. Which LAUNCHXL 28069 pins should I use to feed MCU externally and without boosterpack?

You can find the schematics, pinout (within the quick start guide) and the user guide for this LaunchPad at the following link:

Easiest thing would probably be to wire in a 3.3V supply across the proper pins of JP1 & JP2 (the MCU side of these jumpers).
