CCS/TMDSECATCNCD379D: EtherCAT with TwinCAT3.1

Part Number: TMDSECATCNCD379D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi All,

Hi All,
My clarification towards the below thread,
e2e.ti.com/.../2572100

When I checked with TwinCAT 3.1, there is no physical link layer connectivity between my controller and ESC(ET1100) currently.

Below are the clarifications,
#In the new TMDSECATCNCD379D kit, by default, any preloaded SW will be available?
#In this path, "C:\TwinCAT\3.1\Config\Io\EtherCAT" there is no default ESI.xml file available with respect to C2000 with ET1100 SPI PDI interface?
#Also, I am not able to locate the SSC tool Ethercat slave project file/ SSC Tool PDI/PDO Excel Configuration file/SSC Tool XML file with respect
TMDSECATCNCD379D kit?
Thank you.

Regards,
S.Saravanakumar

  • Hello

No, EEPROM has some basic values loaded, but I don't believe SW is preloaded. You need to obtain it from controlSUITE.
There are two documents provided in the ECAT package in controlSUITE, please follow those on getting the appropriate XML files and etc. All the instructions are provided there.

    Best regards

  • Hi all,

I have referred the following guides to get the TI_C2KESC.xml file,

                      1. SPRUIG9.pdf

                      2. SPRUIF9.pdf

                      3. TIDUBQ6A.pdf

But its not available. We have registered with ETG. also we have SSC tool.

In order to generate the TI_C2KESC.xml file from SSC tool we need to have Config file or pdo mapping xls file , if you have any of this files can you please provide the files for the same.

  • Hello

The files you need to generate the XML are all part of the package provided in controlSUITE. The SSCToolC28xPatch folder in there has the necessary config XML that gets imported into the SSC tool.

    Best regards
