TMS320F28055: Can Piccolo Series connect to external Ram

Can a Piccolo series like the TMS230F28055 be connected to external parallel SRAM, if so via which port?

The 5MHZ ADC can collect a lot of data fast. I need to collect from two channels for 5 seconds at 10 KHZ = 100k x 16 bit SRAM (just for the ADC) . This CPU only has 10K x 16 total.

Kenneth,

Only a subset of C2000 devices have a native external memory interface.

For the Piccolo series, look for EMIF on the F2807x devices.

For the Delfino series, look for EMIF on the F2837x devices or for XINTF on the F2823x, F2833x, and F2834x devices.

Also, the ADC throughput on F28055 is 3.75MSPS at best. I'm not entirely sure about your reference to 5MHz ADC.

Is this Posting/answer format the best way to ask 'simple' technical questions, such as my EMIF question? (used to be called DMA). I am in the initial stages of searching for the best-fit MCU for my application.

Yes, this forum is ideal for such questions.

The only caveat is that the TI (support) audience is usually determined by the contents of the original title/post so if you pivot to another topic, you might not get the proper attention. Starting a new thread is recommended if you want to explore a new subject.
