TMDXHVMTRKIT5X: electric shock and serious heating

Part Number: TMDXHVMTRKIT5X

I bought a TMDXHVMTRKIT5X and HVPMSMMTR, follow  doc(QSG-TMDSHVMTRKIT5X-GUIv1) step by step to make motor running, but there are some probems:

1/Motor's earth pin is floating, when i touch the motor ,I get an electric shock, but when i used a wire connect the pin to earth ,the motor dosn't work!!!!

2/The motor is serious heating! turn motor to 300rpm with unloading, after 1 min the temperature rice to more then 80 degrees Celsius!!!

Are these two conditions normal?

  • 1. This is normal since all grounds are floating from the protective earth ground and connected together, so an appropriate isolation must be used and can't connect the ground to earth when connecting scopes and other test equipment to the board.
    2. It's normal if worked in level 3, you may change the reference current to tune it. It's not normal if worked in other levels, you may check the estimated angle and current waveform as the guide, to look at what happens.

Btw, please ensure the switch/jumper on both controlCard and hv-kit are set correctly as the guide, and the motor parameters are right in the header file.
