TI-PLC-G3-CENELEC-SN: How does this fire alarm system transmit data on two-wire?

Part Number: TI-PLC-G3-CENELEC-SN

In the fire detection industry, analogue addressable systems use control panels and detectors (and devices such as interfaces) which communicate with each other by means of a protocol.

What protocol is this? Can anyone help me find information about it?

  • Vu,
I going to move the thread over to our industrial systems forum to get more thoughts on the above. Currently this is assigned to the C2000 Microcontroller forum.

While this could be implemented with PLC, which would be efficient since the power lines can be re-used as the communication wire; I am not aware of a standardized codec or encoding for fire panel systems in general. I'm hoping others in that forum may have some experience in this end equipment.

The G3-CENELAC that got tagged is an eMETER based PLC protocol that may or may not be suitable for the above systems.

    Best,
    Matthew
