TMS320F28069: How to get started with Power Suite?

Part Number: TMS320F28069
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: POWERSUITE, C2000WARE-DIGITALPOWER-SDK, C2000WARE

Hi there,

my question is related to this post:

I am struggling to get started in C2000Ware Digital Power SDK. I use Code Composer Version  8.0.0.00016.

I have installed several Power Suite Version (cf. attached picture below).

From this page do not know how to continue. It says: " To get started open this page inside the Code Composer Studio (CCS) Resource Explorer." What does this mean? When I disconnect from the cloud it says: "not Found".

I went to all the FAQs and to some of related threads on the forum. I have installed GUI composer runtime. But when I go to View--- GUI Composer TM --- Applications v1  is empty.

So my question is: How do I start Power Suite correctly and how can I import a project from Power Suite? What do I do wrong? Excuse me for this very basic questions. I am looking forward to your help to get Power Suite finally to run.

  • MK,

powerSUITE is a GUI page provided as part of the CCS project. It looks like you have that installed correctly.

Did you install the C2000Ware-DigitalPower-SDK through the ti.com page or from resource explorer? If you downloaded it from ti.com, you won't be able to import the projects through the resource explorer. You will have manually import the project by navigating to the directory and importing it from that location.

If you want to import projects via the resource explorer and utilize the feature in resource exploter, you should first uninstall the existing package and then open the resource explorer and download the package from there by clicking the download icon (downwards pointing arrow) in the top right corner and select "Download and Install". This should allow you to import the example from the page in the last image above. The reason it did not work is because CCS is not correctly identifying the existing package installed via the executable from ti.com.

Upon importing an example, the powerSUITE page, a file named "main.cfg", will be automatically opened.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Regards,
    Ozino

  • Ozino,

thank you for your fast reply. You were absolutely right. I installed C2000Ware_DigitalPower_SDK now directly in Resource Explorer and so I can import the examples.
  • Glad to hear it worked. We are working with the Resource Explorer folks to get the executable from ti.com to work in CCS.
