TMS320F28375D: ADS8557 SPI connection for A/D converter

Part Number: TMS320F28375D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS8557

Hi, team,

Have you ever experienced to connect TI ADC with TMS320F28375D?

In this case, I would like to use ADS8557 and the connection interface is SPI.
Below figure is timing chart of ADS8557.

And below is explanation for each signal of ADS8557

User will not use SDI. (The pin connect to GND.) And SDO_x are output signals.

In point of C2000 pin assignment, SOMI of C2000 is connect to SDO_x. But SIMO doesn't need to connect ADC device. Is my understanding is correct?

Regards,
Nagata.

  • Nagata,

Sorry, none of C2000 engineers have experience of interfacing ADS8557 with F28375D. I think you should get a quick and more accurate answer to this question from ADS engineer than C2000 engineer.

I'm moving you post to ADS engineer. Hopefully, someone from that team will get back with you.

    Regards,

    Manoj

  • Hi Manoj and Nagata-san,

If you are mot writing to the ADS8557 registers, you do not need to use SDI, you can tie it low with a pull down resistor.  The question really is 'How do I get six 16-bit reads using the McBSP port of the TMS320F28357D processor?'
