hi E2E,

My customer use 100pin TMS320F280045 to control the rear stage of power. LLC needs synchronous rectification, Two PWM modules used by LLC to control two bridge arms respectively.synchronous rectification use one PWM to control one bridge arm.

Question1:

They want to know what dead time accuracy can be reached between two PWM modules( They add dead time between LLC tube and synchronous rectifier tube).For example, if high precision dead zone can be added between PWM1A and PWM2A, what is the resolution of dead zone?

Question2:

Can we modify this parameter in high precision PWM module configuration?

Kun,

1. We do not have capability in hardware to add deadband between PWM1A and 2A, they will need to implement this in software by using CMPAHR values or phase shift.

2. Resolution achievable, refer to datasheet, we typically claim upto 150ps resolution.

I know the function needs to be acted in software. What we want to know is that can we modify the parameters independently in high precision PWM module configuration? Thanks.

I will need to know a detailed PWM waveform to comment precisely. In general yes it is possible.

For example , do they still need xB ? etc.

Also based on my understanding so far, they will need hi-res phase shift feature. To incorporate the dead time, but to be sure i will need a PWM diagram of how it is configured, up-down etc, and also how xA and xB of each channels are configured,

we do specify 150ps on hi-res phas shift as well. Do you know what is the customer requirement of the precision of the dead time??
