Hi everybody,

I was using this product, with a TMS320F2812 Mcu : www.ti.com/.../tmdsezs2812

But now, it's difficult to find it because it's an old product.I wanted to replace it with a last generation MCu, for example a Delfino TMS320F28379D.

I have 2 questions :

- Is it easy to adapt the C software on this MCu?
- I've find a Development kit for this product, TMDSCNCD28379D. Do we have access of every pins (337 : NTFBGA) on connectors? Because I want to connect the controlCARD to another board.

the controlCARD has 180 pins brought out, so clearly not all of them are accessible. But most.

The C code is compatible, but F2837x has an FPU and other accelerators you would probably want to take advantage of.

The peripheral code has some major differences, especially in the Event Manager to ePWM and the ADC.

I want to verify which pins are accessible on the connector. Is it possible to have the name of all the pins or I have to buy a controlCard first?

If all the signals I want are accessible, I don't need to redraw the board, and it would be better.

I've studied the documentation SPRUI76A, there are only signals for the J9 connector (page 6), not for the 2 others.

Electrocc,

to see the exact pin mapping of the TMDSCNCD28378D controlCARD you will need to install C2000Ware.

The schematics as well as a pinmap, which explains how the controlCARD pins map to the docking station, can be found in: <install directory>\c2000\C2000Ware_1_00_06_00\boards\controlCARDs\TMDSCNCD28379D\R1_3

Hi Cody,

One last question please :

I don't find in the documentation some important information for me :

- Board dimensions (Length, width and especially height)
- Picture of the bottom layer.

Which software Can I use to open .sch and .pcb files?

The .sch and .pcb files were created in Mentor PADS.

The gerber files are included as a platform independent file format.

Hi Cody,

Thanks for your reply. I've downloaded Mentor Pads, and I could find some information, like the length and the width of the card.

But I couldn't find the most important information for me, the height of the card (PCB + components). I wanted also to have a bottom view picture of the board if possible, just to verify if there are components on the bottom layer of the card.

Electrocc,

The PCB is a standard 0.062" (1.60mm) thick blank with components populated on both the top and bottom layers. This can be verified with the layout files.

The tallest components on the top side are the J2-J7 jumpers, which extend about 5mm above the board. The tallest component on the bottom-side is A:C31, which extends about 2.8mm below the board. These measurements can be verified with the BOM file.
