BOOSTXL-BUCKCONV: Can I change the coefficients of the compensator??

Part Number: BOOSTXL-BUCKCONV
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LAUNCHXL-F28069M, TIDM-DC-DC-BUCK

Hi,

I would like to try implementing my own compensator on BOOST_BUCKCONV using LAUNCHXL-F28069M. On the top right of the Compensation Designer window (see the picture below), I see Comp Coeff section where I can change the values. The simulation looks good ON MATLAB, but I am little worried about damaging the circuit. Does anyone tried doing this? I would appreciate any advice.

  • Yuki,

Yes, you can change the coefficient values.  The TIDM-DC-DC-BUCK write-up has a walk-through.

If you are worried about damage, you can also reduce the Min/Max camp values for the control structure:

    CNTL_2P2Z_CoefStruct1.max
    CNTL_2P2Z_CoefStruct1.min
