TMS320F28032: TMS320F28032 CAN communication failure

Part Number: TMS320F28032

Dears,

My customer used TI DSP TMS320F28032PNT for a power delivery project.

For TMS320F28032PNT,these are two Device Markings:C A and G4A,These are two Wafer Fab Code.

if customer usesd C A marking device, CAN Interface commnication is OK.

The same PCBA,If customer used G4A marking device ,CAN Interface commnication is OK in normal temperature, but CAN communication failure in Temperature above 50 degrees.

what the difference these two Wafer Fab,please advise,

How to fix CAN communication failure issue, thanks!

  • I presume customer is using INTOSC1 as the clock source. If so, they need to perform oscillator compensation. Please see SPRABI7A for details

  • Dears,

Thanks a lot for the answer!

After the compensation, CAN operatrion is ok in both Norma and High temperature.

But the UART Communition is ok in normal temperature, operation failure in Temperature above 50 degrees.

Does the compensation for all periherals or these is a compensation for UART,thanks!

How to fix UART communication failure issue, thanks!

  • What is the bit-rate being used for CAN? Just curious.

Was the UART communication OK before compensation? Can you provide an oscilloscope capture of the SCITX pin to illustrate the effect of compensation? i.e. how the bit-timing varies? Exactly what is the failure seen with UART communication?

Compensation is done to the oscillator. It is applicable to the entire device.
