UNIFLASH: Uniflash spawn unknown error

Part Number: UNIFLASH
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: F28M36P63C2

When we try to load program, read or erase from the Uniflash gui, we get an error saying "spawn unknown".

We tried running dslite.bat and got a Windows error saying that the version of dslite.exe we were running is incompatible with the version of Windows in use.

I have the gui log file, but I cannot fond a ds.log file on the pc.

  • Andy,

Which version of UniFlash are you using?

Do you know that the latest UniFlashV5.1 is supported only on 64-bit Windows 7/8/10?

Please check if you are using it on a 32-bit Win OS.

    Thanks and regards,

    Vamsi

  • I think (I will need to check) that we are using version 5.0.

Is there a 32-bit version that supports the device we are using (F28M36P63C2)?

    Best regards,

    Andy

  • Many thanks Vamsi.

I have downloaded the installer, and I will update the ticket as soon as I have tried it out.

    Best regards,

    Andy

  • Andy,

You are welcome. Did you check whether you are using Win32 or Win64?

    Thanks and regards,

    Vamsi

  • Hi Vamsi,

    We are using Win32.

All OK now, we have Uniflash v4.6 installed and working.

    Many thanks,

    Andy

  • Andy,

    Glad V4.6 worked.

FYI for others that may visit this post: UniFlashV4.6 is the last build that supports 32-bit Windows.  UniFlashV5.X and onwards support only 64-bit Windows.

This detail is mentioned in the release notes.

    Thanks and regards,

    Vamsi

  • Hi again Vamsi,

I have had some difficulty generating the stand-alone command line files.

Sometimes the batch file for the C28 core does not contain the name of the file to load. Also, when we want to load binary files, the start address we enter (in the gui) does not get written to the batch file. The start address is always written as 0.

    Is this known behaviour?

    Best regards,

    Andy

  • Andy,

Please start a new thread so that the subject helps others as well.

    Thanks and regards,

    Vamsi
