TMS320F28386S: PTO floating point output support

Part Number: TMS320F28386S

Hi,

Customer is evaluating F2838x, to replace FPGA.

There's one technical point: floating point PTO output. In details:

Function request is to support "X.XXX".

Performance request is, no missing pulse output with both absolute encoder and incremental encoder:

1) For absolute encoder, the update output frequence is 16KHz (62.5us);

2) For incremental encoder, the frequency is 400KHz (2.5us).

It's a divider. If there's hardware divider, it's easy.

Should it be done in C28x, as TMU's performance is better than CLA? After calculation, value is passed to CLB.

At the same time, the C28x is also interrupted with 16KHz ISR for servo current loop..

Can we match the request?

Thanks a lot.
