TMS320F280049: Can not access APP Center to install GUI composer

Part Number: TMS320F280049

Hi Experts,

Please allow me to continue the discussion from the previous e2e below:
TMS320F280049: Alternatives if someone can not access APP Center.
 https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/c2000/f/171/t/839142

The suggested approach was successfully done with my side.
However, our customer was not.

Even though they typed “http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_ccstudio/guicomposer/v7.2/gc-ccsRepo/” in Work with box, there was no “GUI composer” appeared in the window.

Could you please let us know any alternatives they could install GUI composer without APP center?

Thank you for your kind help.
Best regards,
HItoshi

  • Hitoshi,

I redirected this to the folks that can help you better. You should have a reply as early as tomorrow (western hemisphere time).

  • Hitoshi,

If the customer has a general issue with accessing the internet from the machine running CCS then one option would be for me to create a zip containing the required update sites.  That zip could then be extracted on the machine where they are running CCS and they could point CCS to the extracted update sites to install GUI composer.

    Regards,

    John

  • Hi John,

    Thank you for your proposal.
Could you please let me know the detail of the procedure?

    1) Zip
         Could you create a zip?

    2) It would be sent to the customer.
    3) Please let us know how to install at the customer side.

Thank you for resolving the problem.
    Best regards,
    Hitoshi

  • Hitoshi-san,

I will create the zip that contains the repositories.  Which version of CCS is the customer using?  I will test it out on that version and provide the necessary instructions.

    Regards,

    John

  • Hi John,

    The CCS version is v9.1.0.
Thank you so much for taking care of it.

    Best regards,
    Hitoshi

  • Hitoshi-san,

I have tried out installing this on a couple different versions of CCS and it went ok.  Note that the zip is pretty big.

    repos.zip

    Steps:

    1. Extract the zip into a local folder.
    2. In CCS go to Window -> Preferences to open the Preferences dialog.
    3. Select Install/Update -> Available update sites.
    4. We need to add each of the 3 folders inside the repo zip as Local repositories.  Click the Local button, browse to the path of the first repo, give it a name gc-ccsRepo.  Click OK.
    5. Repeat for the other 2 folders.
    6. Click OK to close the preferences dialog.
    7. GO to Help -> Install New Software.
    8. Select the gc-ccsRepo update site.
    9. Uncheck the box at the bottom that says "Group Items by Category"
    10. Check the box that says to contact all update sites during install
    11. The GUI Composer for CCS feature should now show up in the list.  Select it and click next.
    12. Follow the steps in the wizard to complete installation.

    Regards,

    John
