Hi Vamsi, thanks for the info.

For serial programming and interfacing to my standalone board would I have to connect the PC's TX line to a MAX232 and from the MAX232 to the F28377D's RX line and connect the PC's RX line to the TX line of the MAX232 and the F2837D's TX line to the MAX232 RX line?

Or can I connect the PC's TX and RX lines directly to the F28377D's RX and TX lines? The reason I ask this is I don't know if the F28377D's RX and TX lines are 5volt tolerant. If I remember correctly the PC's serial ports run at 5Volts. I could be wrong but its better to ask to be sure.

Please let me know your thoughts.

You are correct on MAX232 connections.

Peter,

Do you have exact part number for the Max232 ? The Max232 will drive the output into the MCU at VCC -.3 V, so the output voltage will be determined by VCC. Just make sure that you drive the VCC with 3.3V (not 5.0) and you should be fine.

Hi Peter, great name :)

Thanks for the info but I've decided to use the JTAG interface on the F28377D.

Which JTAG programmer would you recommend from Texas Instruments to use to download my code to my standalone board?

I'm about a week away from purchasing a few F28377D's and a JTAG Programmer from the TI Shop but not sure which JTAG programmer will work with CCS9.
