Looking for real-time Brush-less motor controller evl board

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE-MOTORCONTROL-SDK, DRV8301-69M-KIT, CONTROLSUITE, MOTORWARE

Hi,

We are a robotic start-up company based on Irvine CA, We are looking for real-time motor controller/driver evl board to test for our product.

At present we have few issues with the motor driver we have (other vendor):

1. it's not real-time

2. Can't take RPM and adjust PWM/speed quickly, very inaccurate at low speed

3. Motor noise at low speed

Could you please suggest me EVL board to try-out and see if we can get above issues resolved?

We have 3 phase brushless motors (with gear-ratio and without).

Thank You

Neeraj

  • what is your rotor feedback?

To be clear, what you would be getting from TI is an MCU evaluation board, with a low voltage 3-phase inverter plug-on board, with reference source code example of a specific technique (say servo position control using incremental encoder feedback).  It would be up to you to use that software as a starting point to create your whole software solution and product.  just want to make sure you realize that these aren't a fully formed robotics solution where you are just doing high-level interaction/commands.  This is a solution that motor control companies use to make their servo products.

    latest solutions are in

    C2000WARE-MOTORCONTROL-SDK

  • Hi ChrisClearman,

Thank you for your reply and suggestions.

We have hall sensor and encoder from motor. These are brushless motor with 48V 0-30A input.

Could you please share link to see evl boards available for our requirements?

    I will explore SDK meantime.

    Thank you

    Neeraj

  • DRV8301-69M-KIT

is probably the closest with the current requirements, but it's a bit older board that supports InstaSPIN-MOTION (encoder) through  MotorWare and there are some older Hall sensor projects available in controlSUITE under DRV8301-C2-KIT (uses a different MCU controlCARD but same inverter).

  • Thank you ChrisClearman.
