TMS320F280049: How to disable JTAG port on F280049.

Hello Support team.

I have a question related to security of F280049 device.

Question is about when system needs to disable JTAG in the product version.

I checked TRM and I found the below description.

However, I would like to know if F280049 can disable JTAG port simply.

3.13.1 Functional Description

The security module restricts the CPU access to on-chip secure memory and resources without interrupting or stalling CPU execution. When a read occurs to a secure memory location, the read returns a zero value and CPU execution continues with the next instruction. This, in effect, blocks read and write access to secure memories through the JTAG port or external peripherals.

• Flash Sectors: Flash sectors of both the banks (Bank0 and Bank1) can be made secure on this device. Each Flash sector can be allocated to either zone by configuring the respective GRABSECT location in the respective bank's USER OTP.

Hi,

A Complete JTAG port disable isn't supported in F280049 device. However as mentioned in the TRM, you can secure all of the available on chip secure memories which would effectively block accesses through the JTAG port.

Also, as explained in the TRM, the ECSL would break the JTAG connection if an attempt is made to halt inside a secure memory via JTAG. Kindly go through the ECSL section from the TRM for more details.

However, just for your information, we do have a complete JTAGLOCK feature in our latest device TMS320F28388D. ( http://www.ti.com/product/TMS320F28388D).
