TMDSSOLARPEXPKIT: PV panel power management board with converters

Part Number: TMDSSOLARPEXPKIT

Hi!

I have 4 questions.

1)is Piccolo-based Solar Explorer Development Kit suitable to the PV panel with given specs in images?
2) I am wandering whether TMDSSOLARPEXPKIT has built-in solar PV panel emulator by use of DC power supply?
3)If so can we connect real PV panel as input independently without built-in panel emulator?
4)If yes , does voltage range from our PV panel shown on the images can be input to TMDSSOLARPEXPKIT in standalon utilisation?

(Mitsubishi electric Model PV-MF125UE4N) with tech spec as maximum power Pmax=125M and warranted min 118.8W, maximum power voltage Vmp=17.3V, maximum power current Imp=7.23A, Fuse rating =15A, Open circuit voltage Voc=21.8V, Short circuit current Isc=7.9A, Min bypass diode If=12.5A, AT STC 1000W/m^2, AM 1.5, Cell T 25 C. )

  • Hi,

We designed the PV emulator on the board to enabe a quick demo of PV interer control with MPPT algo.

We never tested with a real PV panel. My expectation is that it should work with a panel similar to a the rating of the PV emulator.

The spec you have pointed out is 118W which exceeds the rating of the DC-DC stage on the solar explorer. Hence cannot be used.
