Hi,

I just wonder what is the difference between generating code from Simulink on the F28069M (which is InstaSPIN enabled), and doing the same thing on the F28379D (which does not have InstaSPIN support)? There are examples for both microcontroller series in Simulink and they seem to be pretty similar.

Does it mean that the "beast" F28379D has InstaSPIN support now?

While both the F28069M and F28379D are capable of motor control with Simulink, only the F28069M has the InstaSpin libraries in its ROM that can be called. These are compiled libraries and source is not distributed so the code would need to reside in protected ROM.

I will ask a collegue who is more familiar with the simulink examples, but my hunch is that both are not using InstaSpin algos, but more traditional motor control algos.

Thanks for your support.

Initially, I assumed all the C2000 DMC hardware blocks (in Simulink) have access to the InstaSPIN libraries (which means that the F28379D also has access to InstaSPIN because the example model uses them) but I could be wrong.

Please let me know what your colleague says regarding the Simulink approach.

As Matthew replied, the F28379D doesn't support InstaSPIN using any development approach includes Simulink. The Simulink solutions for C2000, please refer to the link below.

Hi Trung,

The MathWorks Simulink / Embedded Coder approach does not leverage InstaSPIN, which is why the 2 MathWorks examples are so similar. If you want to use InstaSPIN for the F28069, you need to do so via TI software tools.
