CCS/MOTORWARE: GUI Standalone is empty of data

Part Number: MOTORWARE
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8301

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I am trying to work with GUI standalone, I started to load .out of lab2a, I worked with the steps as in the guide, but the GUI is empty of any data that is stated in user.h.

I am using GUI FOC, as I want to see the graphs in other labs that are not available in GUI UNIVERSAL. I ran the lab in ccs and debugged it to produce the.out and changed its name in the right location.

This is GUI v1, I have installed GUI MOTION/FOC and GUI Universal. Motor Identification worked with GUI Universal. The above problem with GUI FOC is shown in the figure below. I am working with booster DRV8301 and launchpad f28069m.

A quick response is highly recommended

  • You must use the InstaSPIN Universal GUI if you want to use the different appProgram.out for the GUI, but it's not the InstaSPIN Universal GUI you posted above, it is the other one that must use the default appProgram.out. IPlease take a look at the GUI guide and follow the guide to use the GUI.

  • I dont want to work with GUI Universal as I want to see the graphs available in GUI_FOC. Isnt working with GUI the same as working with GUI Universal ?

Compiling, creating binaries, copying it to the right location and run .exe app ?

GUI_FOC guide doesnt mention the steps to run .exe it jumped to this step directly:

GUI Composer will initialize, connect, then load \appProgram.out into the memory of the
    Piccolo F28069M.

  • As replied to you above. Unfortunately, you have to use the GUI Universal if you want to change the appProgram.out for the GUI. The GUI as you posted above must use the default appProgram.out. The GUI guides have a more detailed description of the operation steps, please take a look.
