TMS320F28062F: Design Review

Part Number: TMS320F28062F

Hi Team,

This device is being used in a current design and we notice that all of the VDD pins are tied together. Reading through the datasheet, it isn't 100% clear if all these pins should have their own connection to a decoupling capacitor. Looking at some other reference designs we noticed these pins were not shorted together. Can you confirm that these pins all go to the same internal regulator?

They are enabling the internal reg but I am not too sure if this internal reg was a singular reg or a series of them. Given the fact the device works in current configuration I am sure it is only one, but would like to confirm.

Regards,

R

  • Ramon,

OK. They are tied internally as well.

Reading through the datasheet, it isn't 100% clear if all these pins should have their own connection to a decoupling capacitor.

We want to lower the impedance between the capacitor and the supply pin. For this reason, the caps are always placed as close as possible to the supply pin. i.e. each pin provided with its own cap.

Can you confirm that these pins all go to the same internal regulator?

    Yes, confirmed.
