TMS320F280049C: Software Encoder Fast

Part Number: TMS320F280049C

Both instaspin-FOC and instaspin-Motion use Fast software encoder. i have several questions about Fast as follow:

1. in the control diagram, Fast need the motor phase voltage samples(va,vb,vb), but in most cases, inverters often drive motor directly, so the phase voltage waveform is something like PWM not a 'sine' wave, does Fast really need the PWM waveform or just use the generated AC waveform from algorithm to calculate rotor angle

2. what is the limitation of frequency for 'Fast', can it work in a high frequency, as 1kHz?

3. in the user guide, it is said that injection technology has been used in algorithm, can this program run in the ram, is there a lib in the motor control SDK

  • Hello,

The US team is just coming back from a long holiday and we are working to get this assigned to to an expert.  You should hear back by sometime Tuesday.

    Regards

  • 1. The phase voltage sensing signals are a must-have for instaSPIN-FOC. There is a low-pass filter for the voltage sensing that converters the PWM signals to a continuous wave.

    2. That depends on the motor and PWM switching frequency. The instaspin-foc can spin the high-frequency motor up to 1kHz, even much higher.

    3. Not implement high-frequency injection technology in FAST, and no such library in motor control SDK.
